At least he'll also have Lisa's genes :-)

Parachute time at Gymboree. Pretty much the highlight of the week. Oliver needs to be right in the middle of the circle. He’s got a few gags that cut up the room every Sunday, & he lives for the thrill of performing :-)
Oliver’s new class at school. They all look they were woken from a deep sleep for this pic.
I’m clearing out some old “good camera” backlogue. These were taken in July in Lafayette at the O-Zone’s joint b-day party with his Cousin Emily.
Oliver had the pleasure of hitting Gymboree with Izzy & Martha today. In the past, he hasn’t shown a ton of interest in the basketball hoop they have there, but it looks like Izzy got him pumped up for some vicious jams :-)
We came up with a new game at Ronconada Park this morning: graham cracker scavenger hunter.
I go 20-30 feet from where the O-Zone’s standing, and hold up a graham cracker. He unsteadily walks to me as quickly as he can, because these crackers are too delicious to pass up. As he gets to within 5 feet, I put the cracker somewhere on the jungle gym that he can get to with a little work, then I race off to another part of the park, also ~30 feet away. Just as he’s arrived at the cracker and is enjoying the fruits of his labor, he turns, discovers I’m somewhere else, and realizes I’m holding another cr==graham cracker.
This cycle repeats for about an hour. Oliver really got his workout in this morning!
Sometimes it takes a little longer than you expect to get your camera out, & Oliver starts touching something undesirable in the mean time.
We had a blast at Lisa’s cousin’s wedding this weekend. Here’s some great shots of the O-Zone in action.
“Had a great day. Enjoyed playing in the small house outside and playing with the cars at the car table.”
From Oliver’s daily “report card”. It also listed his moods as “Happy, busy, curious & friendly”. I guess he’s starting to get the hang of the toddler room :-)
The first sequence of steps we’ve caught on camera.
Oliver’s in this funny in between stage where he knows how to walk, but it’s not his preferred method of transportation in most situations (crawling’s usually better), so he switches back and forth from missiles to guns throughout the day.
I’d love more insight into what he thinks walking is good for. My suspicion is that he likes it to cover long distances on soft surfaces, or when he thinks it’s likely to earn him a big round of applause.
Oliver’s adapted a famous Steve Jobs quote:
Real artists ship… construction paper.
He’s also fond of the Picasso quote:
It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.
Oliver’s school has a (password protected) website set up for the parents where they post some of the pics they take throughout the week.
Here’s a classic of the O-Zone trying to look cool for his favorite teacher, Tréchelle.
Oliver’s a cool cat, even when he’s asleep.
How often do you sleep with your legs crossed?
I told Oliver all about Gary Gaetti’s short stint with the Sox, when he famously wore a mini-helmet, & he was bummed he missed it.
Oliver’s developed an unusual eating habit: he keeps a fistful of food in his left hand while he feeds himself with the right. This way, he can take off on a moment’s notice and still has that last clump of fruit/macaroni/meatball he can jam down his throat on the run :-)
